What adults are saying:
"You folks have helped me persevere on my path to the priesthood by your honest, moving lyrics and riffs. The music has also been helpful in teen catechesis." Dave Baker - Seminarian
"I played it [Seven Sorrows' CD] for some friends as an example of how far Catholic rock has come. Needless to say, you guys are awesome. Keep up the great work. When is your next album coming out?"
Mike Masny - Saint Luke Productions & Luke Films
"Your music is strong and faith-filled, which is really refreshing in our time. I am impressed and humbled..."
Thom Price - Director of Programming - EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network
"As I was putting the radio show together, editing, mixing etc. I really started to absorb the message of Seven Sorrows music. From the song "Tragic Ignorance", focusing on Jesus' true presence in the Eucharist to the arm-raising petition of Psalm 42 in the song "Hope", the message is thoroughly Catholic. I enjoy the "cutting edge" of the sound, the powerful lyrics, and the overall conviction that demands response, whether someone is a believer or not."
Michael McNamara, producer and host of Cross Signals Radio Show on KBVM (Blessed Virgin Mary) Radio
"For quite a long time I have been searching for Catholic music that is actually enjoyable for me. I really think it's great that there are Catholics out there that want to write music to glorify God, but most of the stuff I've heard just doesn't do anything for me. Then I found you guys......or I should say that you guys found me after my wife, who you sent a CD to at Catholic Answers, brought the CD home for me to check out. I popped it in the CD player expecting to here the usual praise and worship type of music that typifies the whole contemporary Catholic music scene...but what I found was the type of Catholic music I've been searching for over the past several years. It so awesome to hear Catholic music that I can actually get into. I can't wait for the next set of recordings."
Jerry
"you are on-fire for your faith...Let me know if I can ever be of help to you guys. I am so impressed by what you are doing."
Derry Connolly, Ph.D. - President - John Paul the Great Catholic University
"I am in the middle east, and a former Baptist/Catholic, turned Muslim who has not practiced for years. Spiritually lost. The songs and the site, brought forth much for me...I actually got my rosary out today, so touched by your music and your faith."
"I am Eastern Orthodox Catholic and it is impossible to find any music like yours in the
mainstream Christian music lexicon. Your band was exactly what I had been looking for. I love your music and the fact that you refuse to sell out. It inspires me. I will pray for you and tell as many of my friends about you as would care to listen. There is a long list of things that are wrong with our modern world and a short list of things that are right. You are on the short list. Blessings." - Adam Clark
"This band has the strength to help carry those who are lost. The songs are so powerful and remind you what side of the line you should be standing on. My two son's are going to Steubenville San Diego 2005 and they can't wait to listen to them. We can't wait to hear more from them and pray to see them come up to the northwest sometime. Let the Power of Gods Love reign in their music. Praise & Thank's to God!" - Jim
"Again thank you for the inspiration to be able to have a Catholic band and yet get as much support as this band has been getting.. obviously God has a plan here.. embrace it." -Benjamin Brekke - Catholic Musician
We are really proud of what you guys are doing in Catholic music. Going the "extreme" for the love of Christ. Now that rocks! The Plain Jane - Christian Band
Your music "spoke" to me in the sense that it was emotional and very attractive... And, I am considering of becoming Catholic.
What teens are saying:
"I had had premarital sex with my then girlfriend... then listening to your song kinda put into scope the severity of it... then I had a terrible conviction like you wouldn't believe. I brought it up with her, and then we both agreed on no sex, the relationship lasted a month longer, then I KNEW that that's all that she was after. I forgave her and all, and sought God's forgiveness as well. I just want you guys to let you know that the Holy Spirit moved through your song, and I probably wasn't the only one affected by it."
Your song Regret has really helped me out, knowing the premarital sex isn't worth it, I'm going through some struggles with that now, but listening to this song helps me stay focus on God and know that waiting to have sex after marriage is so worth it!
"well I went to Steubenville and I really didn't feel much...I went and I was like this suxs but it's cool. Mostly because the people I went with really suxed...and my hole life I really have never felt part of this world. My music is horrible and I admit it...On the second day, when they Body of Christ was going around I made the biggest wish that I wouldn't feel depressed all the time and that I would be part of the people around me...nothing until I came back home. I woke up and I hated my music....I felt happy and something I haven't felt before..loved. I decided to hear the CD...and the first song made me cry because of the song Regret...very wonderful song and I can't explain how I feel.."
"Sitting there and listening to the music, really got to me, I'm a new believer I guess you might say, or maybe I was lost and now I am trying to find my way, and your music, helped me in some ways understanding things better So I thank you " the Group Seven Sorrows" for the songs and the way they have so far influenced my life."
"I'm looking forward to next year I hope to Seven Sorrows there again. Whenever I have struggles with sin I play your music and pray and it helps me out with my battles against the devil."
"They are an honest and passionate band. If you love Jesus, Mary and your faith but you don't like sissy music, than this band is for you. They have God's favor behind them and their music is more than worth listening to. They don't pretend there is no suffering. The spiritual battle is on and with it comes some feelings that soft music doesn't express very well. So, support the band that supports God and good music. I saw Seven Sorrows live in San Diego at the Rise Up conference... and they rocked. They gave me their CD for free and they still rock!! To all those who even just like heavy metal/punk rock, this band won't disappoint you. "
"I was listening to your CD one day at dance and one of my friends who is an atheist wanted to listen and she was like, "This rocks! who are they?" and I said, "a Catholic rock band." she just kind of looked at me like, you're kidding right. she seriously couldn't believe that Catholics could be that cool."
"I have been searching for a Catholic rock group like yours my entire high school career. I love what you guys are doing it has given me so much hope in my religion. I am also forming a Catholic rock band with some of my friends. With all of the recent tragedies going on in the church and with my own personal excavation of Catholicism, your band has given me the final nudge to pursue this faith. THANK YOU SO MUCH!"
"I've gone through a lot moving from a small town to a big city for 2 months now and gone through a horrible car accident...[and] listening to your CD is what gets me through every morning and ya'll are such an inspiration in my life!
I just listened to it [CD] for the first time tonight and by the time I went through every song to Vengeance I was shivering and in tears. Again, thank you and bless you for this touching gift of music you have freely given to the masses.
Your music is really inspiring. I'm not Catholic, so I am saying that your music touches hearts of different religions."
"I told everyone I know about you guys, and they all love you to. Some of them have even turned their lives around from just hearing how you guys sing about the faith, how the faith means so much to you guys. One of my friends who is deeply fallen from his faith went to confession with me after hearing some of the music you guys sing. You guys opened my heart and my mind to allow the chance to give others a second chance."
